We went in to the hospital on Thursday, September 22. I was expecting to spend that night staying up in anticipation of starting labor and delivering some time Friday. However... being at the hospital made Blakely realize it was time, and I started going into labor late Thursday! By the time I was suppose to be induced Friday, it was time to push! So after 15 hours of labor, she was laying on my chest... our sweet baby girl. When we saw her for the first time we were both overcome with emotion! She was finally here, flesh and blood. She looked like us... we could tell she was ours. This was the little girl that had been pushing against our hands for the last several months. It was amazing!
Here are some pictures of the hospital...
Waiting for Blakely to arrive! So excited to meet our little girl! We were just a couple hours away!
She's here, she's here!! This is us with our wonderful doctor!
Daddy holding Blakely for the first time! So happy :)
Our little family :) So happy to be holding our little girl. She is perfect!

Blakely is 3 weeks old now. Of course, we aren't getting much sleep, but cuddling with her is worth losing sleep. There are things that I miss from pregnancy, and things that I don't miss! I love the fact that my wedding rings fit, my favorite flip flops fit again, and I can lay on my back and stomach! And of course, I love being a mommy. I love having a sweet baby to hold. I love that I am what comforts her. When she gets upset, I'm the one that can calm her, and she feels safe in my arms. I am going to miss wearing pants that don't button or zip... I haven't buttoned a pair of pants in probably 8 months! I also loved feeling her move inside of me. There was something so special about that, and although I can cuddle her and see her move, I will miss that feeling.
Here's some pictures that we've taken in the last 3 weeks... I would apologize for all the pictures we've posted to facebook, but that's just the tip of the iceberg :) She's too precious to not share her pictures with the world!
We're going to the doctor tomorrow just to check her weight, although I think she's plumping up nicely :) I am loving her more and more every day, and every day I wonder how I'll love her more. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers! God gave us a beautiful gift in this little girl, and our prayers were answered! Keep checking our website. I'll keep posting on what is going on with The Gibsons.
Don't apologize she's precious and we LOVE the pictures!! :) Congratulations again, what a sweet little blessing.
